International Patients

Medical Tourism is a developing concept whereby people from  all over the world visit India for their medical needs.  The reason India is a favourable destination is because of it's infrastructure and technology  which is in par with those in USA, UK , Europe & South East Asia.

The cost of treatment in India is considered to be the lowest in Asia, much lower than Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Apart from the treatments being more cost effective, we can boast of the five star medical facilities, highly qualified doctors and most importantly lack of language problem. Furthermore, India also serves as a highly sought after tourist destination which is an added incentive.

Confederation of Indian Industry reported that 150,000 medical tourists came to India in 2005, based on feedback from the organization's member hospitals. The number grew to 200,000 by 2008. A separate study by ASSOCHAM reported that the year 2011 saw 850,000 medical tourists in India and projected that by 2015 this number would rise to 3,200,000.

Lower treatment cost does not necessarily mean lower healthcare standards. The patients travelling to India should find the optimal Doctor-Hospital combination. After the patient has been treated, the patient has the option of either recuperating in the hospital or at a paid accommodation nearby.
